The Youth Investment Fund is funded by the UK Government and being delivered by Social Investment Business, in partnership with the National Youth Agency (NYA), Key Fund, and Resonance.

The Youth Investment Fund team wants to ensure every eligible youth service can apply for funding to renovate their service and recognises that some services only require a small investment to improve their offer to young people. In response to the need, their team has developed a Refurbishment Grants application stream for organisations. The focus of the fund is refurbishments on individual sites.

What are the funder’s priorities?

The Youth Investment Fund aims to:

  • Improve the health and wellbeing of young people.
  • Equip young people with skills for work and life.
  • Empower young people to be active members of their community and society.
  • Level up provision in selected eligible areas of England.
Who is eligible to apply?

Grants are available to local not-for-profit groups to carry out smaller-scale refurbishments and improvements which will allow them to expand or improve their youth service provision in England.

How much can you apply for?
  • The minimum grant request is £10,000 to ensure the change on site will do enough to sustain or expand youth activities.
  • The grant request must not exceed £150,000. Please note that the ceiling of £150K is for capital, revenue, and contingency costs.
How to apply?

The Youth Investment Fund has two application routes:

  • One for large, medium, and small-size buildings, extensions, and renovations over £150,000. you should apply via the main YIF fund.
  • And one for smaller refurbishments below £150,000. You can find the application form here.

Is there a deadline?

The  two application rounds of the Refurbishment Grant Programme are:

  • Round 1:  24 April to 12 May 2023
  • Round 2:  29 May to 9 June 2023
