We are seeking a Care Support Worker to join our friendly, small team in the ME Day Opportunities Service.
No two days are the same at ME (Mencap Enables), which provides meaningful activities for adults with learning disabilities, contributes to developing their independence and helps them try new interests.
Members choose the activities they would like to do and regularly enjoy cooking, arts and crafts, walks in the park and dancing.
The postholder will be a member of a small team providing practical assistance including support with activities, personal care and everyday living skills.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a small team, who is adaptable and non-judgmental and who has good communication skills.
The ideal candidates will also have experience of working with people with learning disabilities, together with an understanding of their changing needs in the community or in a caring role with other vulnerable people.
The Care Support Worker will, in the absence of the Principal Care Support Worker or Senior Care Support Worker, be responsible for some of their duties.
This appointment will be dependent on an enhanced DBS clearance and two satisfactory references.
