Berkshire Women’s Aid is looking to appoint a Refuge Worker to support the work within our specialist Asian refuge in Reading. You will be an active member of the team, have good listening skills, and provide non-judgemental and non-directive support. Knowledge of welfare benefits and the complex issues facing women fleeing domestic abuse would be an advantage. The ability to speak Urdu and Punjabi is an essential requirement.
For this vacancy, the ideal candidate will have experience of working in a confidential and safeguarding environment, and have an understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on families. The role is 15 hours per week. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate for this role.
