VIO services

Reading is a place where the difference made by volunteering and social action is recognised, valued and celebrated. We want everybody to have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the goal of making Reading a thriving community, improving and enriching the lives of all.
RVA’s service for volunteer involving organisations (VIOs) aims to make Reading’s Vision for Volunteering a reality.
  • Our Reading Volunteer Connect service supports organisations in connecting with volunteers looking to help.
  • We share expertise on developing volunteering roles, managing and working with volunteers.
  • RVA arranges or signposts relevant training opportunities for VIOs and their existing volunteers.
  • We facilitate the Reading Volunteer Coordinators’ Network, which provides information and peer support for those in volunteer management roles.
  • We provide strategic leadership and help to ensure the value of volunteering in Reading is recognised, and volunteer activity is flourishing.

VIOs who use our recruitment service gain access to thousands of volunteers through our volunteering website at www.rgneeds.me. Not-for-profit organisations active in the Reading area can register to use our Reading Volunteer Connect service here.
