New Directions Reading is an adult learning college offering a mix of skills and community learning opportunities. Their main teaching site is in Whitley but they deliver training from many other venues across the town.

 

Alison is one of the world’s largest free learning platforms for education and skills training. Alison is dedicated to making it possible for anyone, to study anything, anywhere, at any time, for free online, at any subject level.

 

The Skills Network offer paid-for accredited distance learning courses on a wide range of subjects at levels 1-4 as well as CPD certification. Some courses may be available fully funded if you meet the eligibility criteria.

 

Future Learn is a 100% online platform providing access to courses on a huge variety of subjects provided by universities and industry experts from across the globe.  Many of the short courses can be accessed free of charge and are a great way to explore a new topic or skill. Paid-for accredited courses are also available.

 

OpenLearn is a free learning platform, delivered by The Open University aiming to support the wellbeing of the community. There is a wide range of free courses available, including a selection specifically designed for volunteers.

 

All level 2 courses are fully-funded via the UK Government in the form of the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). Offers a large range of online courses across categories including; mental health, health and social care, IT and business.
