VSO is an international development charity, the world’s largest independent development agency working for change through volunteers. VSO volunteers are experienced professionals who work with local organisations in the least developed countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, doing whatever needs to be done to break down the barriers that trap people in poverty. Their work improves health and education services, helps people access enough food and income, and makes governments and service providers accountable to communities.

VSO supporter groups are groups of people in local communities who come together to stay involved with the work of VSO and be part of international development. The VSO Oxfordshire Supporter Group has members in Reading and Berkshire as well as Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. We aim to have an event or a meeting at least once a month, usually either in South Oxfordshire, Oxford or Reading. Our activities include fund raising for VSO, support for prospective, outgoing and returning volunteers, and raising awareness of development and global poverty issues.
