The University of Reading recognises that as a major and well established institution it has a huge impact on the local community. It brings economic, educational, cultural, leisure, and social benefits to the area. The University offers a wide programme of events, most of which are completely free and open to all. Every year many students engage positively with the community by volunteering for a wide range of organisations and charities.
The University has good links and working partnerships with local authorities, statutory and voluntary agencies, local residents, and businesses.
There are numerous opportunities for voluntary sector organisations and individuals to engage with us and the University is represented on neighbourhood groups by its Community Relations Manager.
