Arthros Ltd . In 1990,after much work, a nurse and doctor from the Rheumatology ward at Battle Hospital, Reading, together with other local volunteers, much fundraising and some generous bequests, set up Reading Charity ‘Arthros’, to help Reading residents living with severe Arthritis.
Together the trustees worked to support local sufferers with grants, equipment, and appliances, so they could live independently. Arthros’ band of volunteers continued delivering support for the next 3 decades.
Now, thirty five years on, Arthros ltd has relaunched in the modern world, with changes that aim to reflect the current needs of those living with disabling Arthritis, and new ways of working.
Arthros is a small charity, run by volunteer trustees, who play a very important role in making sure the charity is run for those it is there to support, and in fundraising for Arthros.
