Grass Roots Development Worker – closing date 18 July 2021

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can play a key role in empowering the local community through the next phase of the COVID-19 crisis and recovery phase.

The Grass Roots Development Worker will reach out into communities across Bracknell Forest with a view to empower and support health and wellbeing related community groups to continue to work in the current climate of recovery, overcoming potential barriers to enable them to reopen.

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist health related groups to restart overcoming potential barriers e.g. sourcing volunteers with the support of the Wokingham Volunteer Centre, committee members, simple governance structures and sourcing premises
  • To identify gaps in provision and develop new partnerships to create new health related groups in line with community need.
  • To support the administration of a recovery fund being made available for Bracknell Forest charitable organisations, community, and faith groups.
  • To undertake mapping of existing health and wellbeing community services already available within the Bracknell Forest community.

Please note: Some flexibility will be required when delivering your role, and occasional evening or weekend work may be needed.
