Sign up to become a Community Health Champion in Reading

Interested in supporting your local community with evidence-based health and wellbeing information? Want to learn how to talk to people in your community about health and wellbeing? Fancy connecting with others across Reading?

Community Health Champions are people who live, work and visit Reading and have an interest in the health and wellbeing of their community. This is a voluntary role. All you need is a passion to connect, inform and empower your community around health and wellbeing.

Training dates are now open to become a Community Health Champion (CHC):
  • Wednesday 27 August 2025, 09:30 – 13:00
  • Wednesday 24 September 2025, 12:30 – 16:00
  • Thursday 23 October 2025, 9:00 – 12:30
  • Thursday 24 November 2025, 9:00 – 12:30

The training will all take place face to face at New Directions College on 330 Northumberland Avenue, Whitley, Reading, Berkshire, RG2 8DH.

This is a joint project between ACRE (Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality), Public Health and New Directions College.
