We are delighted to announce that Reading Voluntary Action (RVA) has recently been awarded Local Infrastructure Quality Accreditation (LIQA) from NAVCA.
The accreditation demonstrates the quality of our offer and our impact in supporting the voluntary and community sector across Reading. Accreditation is awarded for three years, and is provided following independent assessment of a portfolio of evidence based on the four functions of infrastructure:
- Leadership and Advocacy: mobilising and encouraging community action, strengthening our sector’s voice and influence on key decision-makers and funders.
- Partnerships and Collaborations: creating opportunities and driving effective joint working by building networks of local organisations and strategic partners.
- Capacity Building: providing practical support and opportunities for people to develop skills in their local community, so that they can achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Volunteering: building an environment in which volunteers and their communities thrive, by encouraging and nurturing opportunities.
In achieving this accreditation, RVA has demonstrated it delivers each of these functions to a high quality standard, that we are responsive to, and embedded within the needs of our local voluntary and community sector, and are committed to working in partnership.

The accreditation process also provides opportunities to gain invaluable insights into organisational strengths and areas for development. As a member of NAVCA, RVA will continue to benefit from being engaged in a network of peer support, offering opportunities for continuous learning and development.
