Let’s Talk About Vaccines is a NEW training session to help build your confidence, skills and knowledge to open up discussions with people about vaccination decisions.

This 2.5-hour online, interactive session is free to health, social care and voluntary sector staff across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West.

How this training can support you in your role:
  • Talking about vaccinations will help to support vaccine uptake, improve population health, and reduce demand for services.
  • You will learn how to start conversations about the importance of flu, and other vaccinations.

The training will explore the issues, myths and barriers around vaccine hesitancy, providing you with the techniques and approaches to help people make informed choices. These can be used in your everyday contact with patients as an opportunity to discuss vaccine uptake.

We acknowledge and understand that people may have a good reason not to have a vaccine. By listening to individuals and their concerns and discussing options in a non-judgemental way, the training aims to support you to improve people’s knowledge and understanding.

You will learn how to increase people’s awareness and confidence to make better informed vaccination decisions for themselves and their family.

This training uses approaches from:
  • Making Every Contact Count (MECC)
  • Shared Decision Making
  • Motivational Interviewing
