Reading Community Learning Centre is a local charity that helps ethnic minority women and their families who live in Reading. We reach out and empower isolated and vulnerable women to grow their skills, confidence and independence. We do this through learning, support and friendship.

Most of our women are migrants or refugees who speak little or no English and have limited experience outside their home.

We are seeking female learning support volunteers with ESOL, TEFL or secondary school experience to support the class teachers to help the women (and in some classes men) practice their English, gain confidence and make friends.

In the classes, you will support the class teacher and encourage active learning that builds on learners’ existing skills and experience. The courses are for 2 hours over a 10 week period during term time.

We are also looking for Beginners IT classroom volunteers to support the tutor with ESOL and IT in the classroom.
