Autistic Pride Reading is in the happy position of being able to recruit more trustees. You will need to have lived experience of autism and be based in Berkshire. We would particularly welcome applications from people with an interest in social media, fundraising and finance. We are specifically hoping for applications from differing and minority gender/sexuality and ethnic backgrounds in order to better represent the community we serve.
Autistic Pride Reading has celebrated six successful Autistic Pride events in Prospect Park, Reading. These have been temporarily put on hold due to Covid but we have instead funded two online Autistic Pride events which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpQtxIolUXY7Stjx40vZ3Tg
We run a successful families group and have run book clubs for various different interest groups. Funding is in place for next year’s Autistic Pride. We’ve also aimed to provide safe/quiet sensory spaces at larger local events and Reading Pride (sadly unable to make it this year). We offer private support inline via our various social media accounts – FB, Twitter and Instagram. To find out more about we do please visit those accounts and our website here: http://www.autisticpridereading.co.uk/
Our meetings are always held virtually as we have found that made it more autism friendly for the current trustees. We run a channel on Slack for communication between meetings. We look forward to you joining us.
