We are Hempen Cooperative, a small land-based project based 4 miles outside of Reading.

Every Tuesday we host Community Volunteering Days. From sowing seeds to making compost, walking in the woods in the woods to relaxing with a hot drink of tea, our community days are a hive of activity.

We are on the look-out for people with cars! Many of our volunteers are from Reading’s refugee community. Many people are on a low income so face barriers to accessing the farm. We are recruiting warm and friendly  people to join our team of volunteer drivers who are able to help people join in! Ideally you will be someone who enjoys chatting but more-over is a good listener. We are respectful of what people choose to talk about and are led by them! (Training provided on this).

Our session starts at 10am and ends at 2:30pm. It includes a nutritious communal lunch. Timings can be flexible depending on what you are able to offer!

If you think that one or both of those timings work for you, amazing. You don’t have to stay for the session but you are warmly welcome!
