The Assistant Caseworker Volunteer will assist the Caseworker and support the organisation’s mission in providing services to asylum and refugee seekers. The Casework Assistant along with all staff represents the charity to the clients and other agencies and is an important role within in the organisation.
Main tasks will include:
- Interviewing clients.
- Listening to and understanding client requests.
- Phoning agencies regarding client issues such as; housing, health, welfare.
- Helping clients access certain services such as GP.
- Helping clients fill in forms.
- Writing case notes and entering data onto a database.
An individual taking on this role must be emotionally resilient, flexible in a challenging work environment, sensitive to refugee issues. A legal background is preferable.
We require a minimum 6 month commitment to this role. You will receive training as per role.
