We need volunteers to help with the running of the Fringe during the week of the festival, with up to four stewarding each event.
The aim of volunteer stewards is to help make sure the performances go without a hitch and both the audience and performers are happy. This might mean that you are
-
- selling tickets
- checking tickets
- helping the acts set up
- liaising with committee members
all with the support of your venue manager.
If you are looking for experience in live arts events, arts administration or customer service this is a great opportunity for you.
Stewards should be
- friendly
- approachable
- always willing to help
- have great team spirit
- be reliable
- be adaptable
You can volunteer as much or as little time as you are able during the festival, but we do ask that you are available for at least two slots of roughly 90 minutes during the week, as well as one training session, roughly 1 hour, in the run-up to the Fringe.
As a thank you for your time, you may be able to watch shows which you are stewarding, as well as receiving a free ticket to any other Fringe show of your choice.
Some venues have wheelchair access and all venues have good public transport links. If you have concerns about any of these factors please email Sarah, our volunteer coordinator, to see what needs can be met.
If you are not available during the week of the event, we are always looking for volunteers to help spread the word in the run up – get in touch with Sarah who can advise you on dates.
