Bring your skills to our board and help us in our work to promote public awareness and debate on nuclear weapons

Trustee / Committee volunteer needed for Nuclear Information Service (NIS)

Company Director – Voluntary role in a not-for-profit company.

Nuclear Information Service (NIS) is a not-for-profit, independent information service which works to promote public awareness and debate on nuclear weapons and related safety and environmental issues.

The organisation is embarking on an exciting period of development, and is mid-way through a five year strategic plan. In line with this, the current Board are seeking to recruit additional company directors to meet the governance needs and requirements of the future.

We seek to recruit committed individuals who feel passionate about nuclear weapons and disarmament issues, and who are willing to provide hands-on support to our work. We particularly welcome applications from: Peace movement activists with experience in research and information gathering are particularly valued; and individuals with experience in fundraising, branding, media and organisational communications.

Individually, directors will have a proven track record of success in their own area of expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, together with a strong commitment to Nuclear Information Service’s organisational goals. Directors should have a clear understanding of the principles and practice of good governance, have high standards of integrity and be able to promote and support Nuclear Information Service in their sphere of expertise.

Directors will be expected to participate in quarterly board meetings and the annual organisational strategy meeting.
