Formed in 1802, Reading Dispensary Trust is a medical charity that makes grants for equipment and services not available through statutory sources to those suffering from physical,  mental illness or disability. In 2020 the trust has given approaching £2 million in grants to those in need locally, via referrals from local organisations.

We are seeking a volunteer with financial skills and experience to join the trust’s board, the role will involve:

• Overseeing the finances of Reading’s oldest charity.
• Ensuring proper records are kept and that financial procedures are in place.
• Monitoring and reporting on the financial health of the charity.
• Overseeing the production of the necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits and report to trustees.

We are seeking a volunteer with good communication skills, an understanding of basic book-keeping and a willingness to lead on the financial aspects of the charity.
