Help Shape the Future of Adult Social Care in Reading

Reading Borough Council is developing a new Adult Social Care Strategy for 2026–2031. The strategy sets out our priorities for the next five years and how we will improve support for residents, carers and communities across Reading.

We would like to hear your views on the draft strategy. Your feedback will help us understand whether the proposed priorities reflect what matters most to local people and whether there are any areas we should strengthen before the strategy is finalised.

The strategy is supported by a separate Adult Social Care Improvement Plan, which sets out how the priorities will be delivered. The Improvement Plan includes specific actions, milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs), lead officers and timescales, with a focus on People (workforce), Practice and Performance.

We will review all responses received through this consultation alongside feedback from residents, carers, people with lived experience, staff, partners, providers and community organisations. This will help us ensure that the final strategy reflects the needs, experiences and aspirations of Reading’s diverse communities.

This consultation closes on 31 August 2026. Please ensure that your response is submitted before this date.
