Transport Assistant Administrator – closing date 29 May 2025

We have over 120 volunteer drivers who use their own car to take our 750+ clients to vital medical appointments and social events throughout the year. To organise these bookings, liaising with clients and drivers, we have a small team of office volunteers who cover the transport desks five mornings per week and are overseen by a staff member.

This post oversees the desks on Wednesdays and Thursdays (9am-3pm), supporting the volunteers and providing direction on policies and procedures as well as ensuring our systems are working effectively.

Essential skills;

  • Must be IT literate, with proficiency in Excel, Outlook and using databases and able to learn other systems
  • Enthusiastic team worker with strong interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, conscientious self-motivated and self-sufficient
  • Good communication skills
  • Good telephone manner
  • Experience of working with older people and understanding of their needs
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong organisational skills
