The Queen Victoria Fund Reading (QVFR) has opened applications for its second round of funding for 2026
QVFR provides funds for public health initiatives that help combat health inequity. Organisations working within communities and neighbourhoods in the Reading Borough and Earley Town Council areas are eligible for funds to support their work.
This might include perinatal inequalities, positive action on obesity and weight loss, alcohol misuse, children’s nourishment and child socialisation. QVFR will also consider funding initiatives which address mental health issues, including clinical depression and certain forms of addictive behaviours such as gambling.
Who can apply to QVFR?
Organisations, voluntary and community groups in Reading and Earley. Such groups do not need to be registered as a charity, but must be properly constituted, with their own bank accounts and with responsible officers, e.g. Chair, CEO, Treasurer. Organisations will need to demonstrate how their health-related project benefits local people.
How much can organisations apply for?
QVFR will consider applications for small grants, below £2000, grants between £2,000 and £5,000, and may, in exceptional cases, make grants larger than £5000. There are three rounds of grant-making a year.
QVFR Trustees are also keen to partner with other organisations to discuss local proactive joint initiatives. If your organisation supports local people’s health needs, please apply to QVFR.
Deadline and how to apply
- The closing date for grant applications for this round is 29 June 2026.
