This role is part of the Cost-of-Living Project, a partnership between the Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality (ACRE) and Citizens Advice Reading designed to strengthen community wellbeing through early access to advice and support.
Working alongside Community Health Champions (CHCs), the project will train volunteers as Advice First Aiders, who are trusted local contacts that can identify when people need help with issues such as housing, debt, or benefits, and connect them with professional support.
The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, support, and motivate these volunteers, expanding ACRE and CAR’s reach, building community capacity for early intervention, and improving access to advice for those most affected by financial hardship.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have experience in volunteer coordination.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Be able to build trusting and meaningful relationships with the CHCs.
- Have strong organisational skills.
Hours of work: 0.4 FTE (14 hours) 2 days a week.
1-year fixed-term contract with possible extension.
