The first part of the evening will focus on a review of the past year, electing trustees for 2024 and planning the year ahead. There will be opportunities for you to give feedback on our newsletter, the events we have held in 2023, our website and how we can continue to make the best use of our resources.

For the second part of the evening, our trustees have chosen the theme of “Building Compassion across Communities in Reading”.

Society often promotes the value of success, material possessions and that very comfortable feeling associated with achievement. We may even be deceived into thinking that almost anything is possible if we dare to dream our ambitions.

Fortunately achieving personal success is not the best and most important thing we do. Through our collective spiritual traditions, our reason and our faith in humanity, we can recognise and accept the need to support each other, show compassion, and give rather than always hope to receive.

So what are we already doing to build compassion across communities in Reading? And how can we do more?
