**The closing date for the survey has been extended till Friday 30 September, please do take 10 minutes to complete the survey and help us to shape volunteering in the town**

 

Over the previous few months we have been working alongside Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality (ACRE) and Connect Reading to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to co-produce a Vision for Volunteering that will help ensure that we make the best use of the resources, skills and motivation that volunteers across the town have to offer.

As part of this process, we have conducted a number of workshops with VCS groups and volunteers, conducted a range of interviews are gathered case study examples of the positive impact volunteering is having in our town.

We are now launching a survey to capture a snapshot of the state of volunteering in the town today. We know from our conversations that both organisations and individual volunteers have had varying experiences over the past 2 years and we are keen to gather data to help understand the current situation.

The survey will ask about current, non-trustee, volunteer capacity and explore the ways in which groups are using volunteers in their work. There will also be questions relating to the support and recognition that volunteers are given, your experience of engaging with corporate volunteering programmes and provide an opportunity for you to identify what challenges and opportunities you foresee over the coming years and the kind of support you feel would help you to overcome/ make the most of these.

Your answers to the survey can either relate to your whole organisation or a specific service.  The survey is open to any not-for-profit organisation that involves non-trustee volunteers in its work. A separate investigation into trustee volunteering will be undertaken in due course. Your answers will be treated as confidential and the results will be presented in an aggregated, non-attributed form.
