At PACT we are genuinely passionate about what we do. We share a purpose of empowering service users and strengthening families through the quality services we provide.
We are looking for an experienced, qualified adoption social worker to join our Strengthening Families team which forms an important part of our overall adoption support services. With your understanding of child development and the impact on behaviour of interrupted development and your commitment to strengthening the families who we support, you will use your effective interpersonal skills and flexibility in approach to respond to the needs of our service.
Ideally you will have some specialist therapeutic experience particularly with trauma and attachment. This could also include some initial Theraplay and/or Dyadic Development Practice (DDP) training to build on your existing knowledge and to support your success in the role.
You will be carrying out some individually tailored and in person packages of therapeutic work with adoptive children and their adoptive parent/s. You will also be involved in helping to co-deliver some in-person therapeutic group work sessions on a regular basis. These groups are set up for our older adoptive children and they also form part of our wider adoption support offer.
To join our inspirational organisation where you can make a real difference, please visit http://www.pactcharity.org/careers for further information on how to apply and a job description.
