We are looking for an experienced General Manager to join YMCA Reading. This role will provide a comprehensive high quality supported housing service to 40 vulnerable young people (16-25 years).

The role will deal with all facility housing management functions, including void management; repairs; allocations; rent collections; arrears management; as well as overall management of the Support Team, ensuring a person-centred approach to each young person’s needs.

About you:

• Evidence of facilities management within a supported housing setting, including knowledge of allocations; housing management; community involvement.
• Experience of innovation and creativity in decision making and problem solving.
• Ability to manage financial plans/budget.
• Experience of working with vulnerable young people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
• Ability to liaise, build and promote positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Resilient and able to keep calm under pressure.
• Emotional intelligence with the ability to understand who our clients are and what matters to them.
• Ability to manage and facilitate change and to negotiate and influence effectively
