Sport in Mind – After School Youth Sessions and Sport, Exercise and Mental Health Workshop

Organisation
“My child loved the Sport in Mind Youth sessions and kept asking when they can go back”

Following on from the success of their summer youth programme, Sport in Mind are delighted to announce that their after school sessions are back. The feedback they have had from the participants and their families has been hugely positive and they are proud to extend the service into the school term and beyond. The innovative programme has been designed specifically for children suffering with a mental health challenge, ages 9–12 and 13–16. The sessions available are football, cricket, dance, games and well-being activities. The full schedule and all details can be found here.

Sport, Exercise and Mental Health Workshop

Along with the sports sessions, Sport in Mind are also  offering a Sport, Exercise and Mental Health Workshop. This is an hour long introduction to the benefits that sport and exercise have on physical and mental wellbeing for young people aged 9–17. Young people will take part in sport and exercise taster activities based around four elements that are important to wellbeing: communication, heart rate, breathing and focus. These interactive activities will build self esteem, confidence, and team work skills, as well as being lots of fun!

This workshop is open to schools, community groups and all settings where young people will benefit from learning about how to keep themselves healthy and happy through getting active. The cost of this session is currently free and can include up to 30 participants
