An exciting opportunity to join the longest running theatre in Reading. We are seeking dynamic and driven people to add to the diversity and skills mix of our Board of Trustees.

Progress Theatre is a Registered Charity, governed and maintained by volunteers. We present a quality programme of popular and challenging theatre at our own 96-seater venue and stage Open Air Shakespeare productions at Reading Abbey Ruins each summer. We have a thriving Youth Group, present digital theatre, encourage new drama with our Writers’ Group, and through our friendly and energetic community of members we aim to promote live theatre in Reading and the surrounding area.
We are looking for people with proven experience to support our aims and objectives as an amateur theatre company promoting the education of the general public in Reading and elsewhere in the performing arts, and the provision and maintenance of our theatre.
We are particularly looking to recruit Trustees who have practical experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Accounting / Finance
- Digital development/ IT governance & security
- Fundraising / Grant applications
- Property & Asset Management
- Legal /Personnel Management
