Why become a trustee?
“Being a trustee has given me an even deeper appreciation of the breadth and extent of the work of Maestros as a whole and as well being able to contribute to the overall direction and development of the organisation. I definitely encourage anyone to consider becoming a trustee – you don’t need specific paper qualifications but a willingness to bring your particular experience and insight, provide support, ask questions and take decisions that enable this great organisation to grow and thrive.” – Adam Pollard
“As a trustee at Berkshire Maestros you need to believe in the organisation and the power of music in shaping our young people’s lives.” – Caroline Hyde
“To be a Trustee you need the ability to put the organisation first in your thinking. Willingness to absorb information, listen and speak at Trustee Meetings is vital, to question and offer advice on your specialist knowledge areas or on other topics from an independent point of view.” – Greg Sehringer
“In terms of commitment, the duties are not onerous but it is important to attend the main board meetings regularly, in particular to maintain continuity and be up-to-date with what’s going on, in order to contribute. The main commitment is a willingness to participate, discuss, question and not be afraid to suggest things.” – Andrew Jackson
We are ideally looking for Trustees to start in September 2020.
