Help launch young people for life today. Volunteer as a Trustee with Reading Sea Cadets
Reading Sea Cadets provide young people from 10-18 years old with life skills of teamwork, self-respect and social responsibility. We offer our cadets a wide-ranging training programme with a nautical focus, which helps them gain new skills and to gain accredited qualifications.
Training includes seamanship, mechanical engineering, communications, map reading, rope work, parade drill and first aid. We also go boating on the river Thames in the summer, where our young people enjoy rowing, canoeing and kayaking.
We are seeking additional trustees to join our committee, which oversees the management of our unit.
The committee oversees the running of the unit including financial management, policies and procedures, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, safe guarding and compliance with charity commission and other legislation.
You would be joining a small, friendly and hardworking team.
No experience of Sea Cadets is necessary – just a willingness to help inspire our young people get the most out of the Sea Cadet experience.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in running a small charity and youth organisation or for anyone with previous experience looking for a new volunteering opportunity.
