We are looking for young people who can encourage children to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
Tasks will include:
- Talking with, and listening to, children age 4 to 12 about books they have been reading and suggesting further reading
- Understanding the way the summer reading challenge works
- Handing out reading rewards
- Helping children and parents complete forms
- Assisting with administration
- Helping library staff run events
We are looking for people who are:
- Good at talking to children
- Enthusiastic about reading
- Calm when things are busy
- Committed to helping libraries and customers
By becoming a volunteer you will:
- Develop skills
- Make a contribution to your community through supporting libraries
- Gain work experience for your CV
- Raise your confidence and self- esteem
Ideally you would be based at a branch nearest to your home.
