The Link Visiting Scheme aims to counter social isolation amongst Wokingham Borough’s elderly residents. We do this by providing a befriending service. We offer 1:1 befriending between a volunteer and an isolated elderly person – to build confidence and self worth and because it can take a while to match them with their volunteer we have recently introduced a service called Link Express which provides a telephone befriender to keep them company in the interim.
