Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is continually looking to develop positive relationships with the community, in particular through Reading University Volunteering Society (RUVS).

RUVS is a group of University of Reading students who work with the Societies and Volunteering Co-ordinator at Reading University Students’ Union, to run student-led projects, all designed to meet community needs. The aims of these projects are to provide students with opportunities to get involved in a diverse range of one off and flexible, as well as longer term volunteering; where they can gain a wide range of skills which it may not be possible for them to gain through regular volunteering: such as budget management, volunteer recruitment and project planning. These projects provide students with the autonomy to run with their own ideas, without so many restrictions that set volunteering opportunities might bring.

RUVS are continually looking to increase the number of student-led volunteering projects we offer to students and if you think we could work with you either on a one off or long term basis, please contact RUSU’s Societies and Volunteering Co-ordinator (Emily Shaw) to discuss opportunities further.
