In July 2011, the National Trust was gifted Nuffield Place, between Wallingford and Henley. It is the former home of William Morris, Lord Nuffield, the inventor of the Morris motor car and Britain’s greatest philanthropist. He and his wife Elizabeth lived at Nuffield Place from 1933 until his death in 1963.

Kept remarkably intact since then, the house is a perfectly preserved 1930’s time capsule, providing a unique insight into the life of this extraordinary man.
