Join our team of telephone befrienders
Befriending / Visiting volunteers needed for Berkshire Vision
Berkshire Vision provides information/support to children and adults who are blind or visually impaired. We offer a wide range of services to our members and their families, as well as working with health and social care professionals, local employers and community groups to improve their understanding of visual impairment.
We are recruiting more Volunteer Telephone Befrienders to join our team. Visual impairment causes some of our members to feel loneliness and isolation, which is exacerbated by Covid restrictions and the onset of winter. A regular weekly phone call and a lovely chat can make all the difference and we have had some wonderful friendships develop as a result. This is rewarding role and particularly suitable for those who want to make a difference and have extra time on their hands.
This role will be carried out from home and with the full support of our volunteer team. Training will be given. Volunteers will be required to provide two references.
