We aim to be an independent source of support and information for breastfeeding women and those involved in their care.
We run support groups which breastfeeding mothers and their families are welcome to attend for support and information about breastfeeding, to ask questions and to meet and socialise with other breastfeeding women. The support groups are staffed by trained volunteers.
We run courses to train women as peer supporters (breastfeeding helpers) to work in the support groups, on the hospital postnatal wards and in antenatal sessions. These training courses are open to women of all ages, and are free of charge, but carry a firm commitment to a minimum of six hours voluntary work a month for at least a year.
There are drop in centres in Henley, Caversham, Coley Park, East Reading, West Reading, Finchampstead, Katesgrove, Pangbourne, Shinfield, Sonning Common, Whitley and Woodley.
