CCB are an independent charity with over 40 years’ experience in community development work. Our mission is to support communities in Berkshire to thrive. We do this by providing information, advice, support, training and personal development to individuals, groups and other organisations. Our projects have a positive and long lasting effect on the communities of Berkshire.

CCB work with communities by providing support with Community Led Plans and Neighbourhood Planning, Informal Adult Learning, a tailored service to volunteers that run Community Buildings and supplying independent advice on Rural Housing solutions. We also offer a service for member Town and Parish Councils ensuring that they are well managed and comply with all relevant legislation.

We have run a number of projects which have focused on keeping people warm and healthy in their homes. These have included launching an Oil Buying group to reduce the cost for those that heat their homes with oil and providing home visits to the vulnerable and elderly to advise them on how to reduce their energy bills. We have experience of leading on a variety of diverse projects including managing grants and funding, providing education opportunities for gypsy and traveller communities, assisting with the digital switchover for vulnerable groups, working with migrant workers, the BME community, carers, young people, the elderly and the unemployed.
