The Family Information Service is a statutory service providing free individually tailored information, advice and guidance on any family matter. The service is available to any family member taking care of children or young people aged 0-19 years of age inclusive (up to 25 years for children and young people with special needs) as well as professionals working with families in Reading. What is the Local Offer?
The Local Offer is part of the reforms that are happening as a result of the new Children & Families Act 2014 and the new SEN reforms. The Short Breaks/SEN/D Information Service is a free service provided by Reading Borough Council for families with children and young people who have special needs aged 0- 25 years (inclusive) living in the Reading area.

For people who do not have access to the internet, this information can be found in a number of other ways. We offer a 9am-5pm telephone service 0118 9373777 (opt 2), we offer an outreach service and attend events. You can also visit us at the Civic Centre as we are based just behind the reception area.
