Alafia provides support, information, advice and advocacy to black and minority ethnic families caring for children and young adults with disability (0-25).
It offers information to its families about existing support services, and enables and improves their access to local resources.

It provides emotional and practical support through individual outreach family support workers who work with families on benefits, educational, health and social care matters, short breaks and leisure activities. Other regular activities include parent support groups, outings, fun events and regular trips for carers.

Alafia works in partnership with health and social care service providers and other relevant practitioners in order to improve service delivery to black and minority ethnic communities.
