This role requires strong administrative skills and experience. Reporting to the Head of Volunteering, the Volunteering Projects Officer is responsible for developing our volunteer support across the charity, particularly focusing on the safe recruitment, management, development and recognition of our volunteers. It is a requirement of this role:
- To successfully pass a DBS check, at the enhanced level.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours.
- Have a full driving licence with regular access to a car (business-use insurance required).
We rely on our volunteers to help us provide all of our services, to visually impaired adults and children, join our team to to make a big difference. Job includes:
Volunteer leadership and management
- To assist in the running of internal projects such as telephone befriending and “realeyes”.
- To provide high quality advice and professional support, increasing the impact of volunteering across the charity.
- Recruit, induct and support volunteers in line with Berkshire Visions volunteer policy and procedures.
- Manage the volunteer database, ensuring all data is up to date and compliant with legislative, policy and best practice requirements.
- Carry out administrative duties relating to the management of volunteers.
