Citizens Advice Reading (CAR) is a large busy town centre advice service that deals with in excess of 7,500 clients each year. Staffed by over 80 volunteers and 25 part-time paid staff.
An opportunity has now arisen for a further Team Leader to join the current team that supports the generalist advice service. Team Leaders have specific responsibilities and the successful applicant for the new post will be expected to focus on direct supervision of volunteer supervisors and advisors and the maintenance of quality standards and audit criteria.
If interested in this role, you will already be a generalist adviser or the equivalent and have a thorough understanding of the main enquiry areas (ideally with particular expertise in debt and welfare benefits advice) and share CAR’s commitment to quality in all aspects of its services. You will be an effective communicator and able to research, interpret and analyse complex information. You will be able to work in a demanding, challenging but highly satisfying environment and also have good IT skills. Ideally you will have experience of supervising, coaching and providing feedback but this is not essential as development can be provided.
The role is 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE).
