RCLC is a charity which provides education and support for women from minority ethnic communities who may be unable to access more mainstream services because of the educational, social or cultural barriers they face.
We are currently looking for a qualified, enthusiastic, motivating, creative and imaginative, female IT tutor with a background of teaching ESOL preferably within a community learning environment to teach the Beginners IT course to ethnic minority migrant and refugee women with English as a second language (one 10-week course per term)
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Comply with RCLC’s teaching contract, policies and procedures
- Attend Induction and other training as agreed with the line manager
- Complete all the necessary preparation and paperwork to deliver courses to the required standard
- Support and encourage active learning that builds on learners’ existing skills and experience; evaluate the effectiveness of learning; keep records of learners’ progress and give learners appropriate and supportive feedback
- Support the ethos of the organisation in creating a working environment of mutual respect, tolerance and support for the values of equality and diversity
- Work collaboratively with RCLC staff, volunteers and Board members, and with the staff from other organisations based at the Centre
