The success of the relational, tailored, and holistic approach of Starting Point’s one to one mentoring has now provided an exciting opportunity to meet with young people who have been supported referred through local schools and A&E. The community support focuses on both practical and wellbeing support, as well as supporting young people to access positive opportunities.
The focus of the Schools & Community Mentor role is to mentor young people across local schools and build positive relationships with staff and teachers. The role also includes meeting young people who have been referred by other partners such as children’s services and A&E, meeting Volunteer Mentors, and supporting Starting Point’s social groups.
This role is part Starting Point’s Schools Navigator and A&E Navigators programmes which creates a relational journey from a young person’s place of education or moment of crisis to thriving within the local community.
