Medium Risk Safety Planner and Outreach Worker – closing date 28 November 2018

The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality service as Risk Safety Planner to support those who experience domestic abuse. The role is based within the Domestic Violence Unit at Thames Valley Police (TVP) in Reading supporting their team in regards to risk assessing, support planning and signposting victims to support services. Part of your work is to work in partnership with TVP to ensure to that victims receive a seamless service between TVP and local domestic abuse services, including Berkshire Women’s Aid, getting victims the support that they need.

As part of the role you will also provide support and information to clients who have experienced violence or cruelty at home or in a close relationship, working in partnership with other agencies such as Children’s Social Care and Health to reduce risk and improve safety. Delivery of training and awareness raising are requirements for the post. This post is subject to safer recruitment procedures and regulations, with an enhanced DBS check and TVP vetting.
