Advice & Outreach Worker

Main Purpose:

  • To provide technical advice to CommuniCare clients in the Advice Centre and at outreach sessions in the town.
  • To identify the personal and pastoral support needs of clients and seek to ensure that they are met.
  • To ensure accurate records of clients are kept
  • To monitor and review client files in line with CommuniCare policy.
  • To support CommuniCare Outreach work,
  • To ensure CommuniCare standards are adhered to in all Outreach work.
  • To support the delivery of the agreed work plan and contribute to the development of the strategy.

To fill the above role we require someone who:

  • Has a minimum of 2 years experience in advice work
  • Has very good knowledge and understanding of the benefit system.
  • Has a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Has the ability to work from home if required
  • Has good IT skills
  • Is able to show enthusiasm and initiative
  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a non-judgmental way

Ideally this person will also have:

  • A driving licence and their own transport
  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector or working with volunteers.
