Mental Health First Aid – Becoming Champions

Tuesday 16 March 2021

Acre and partners intend to create a Community Wellbeing hub at their Oxford Road Community Centre base that will be accessible to the BAME (Black Asian and Minority Ethnic) and other minority community groups in Reading.

Acre has raised funds to provide training for up to 16 community representatives in Mental Health First Aid – becoming champions; and Suicide Prevention – Suicide First Aid. This training is open to all minority ethnic groups/individuals including East Europeans. We aim to ensure that as many communities as possible are represented on the course.

Training is delivered by qualified Mental Health Aid practitioners, and will explore cultural appreciation of mental health in different communities. Attendees will receive certificates.

The dates are as follows:
  • 16 March 2021 – Mental Health First Aid – Becoming Champions
