Reading Voluntary Action has received funding to deliver an in-person 16-month Community Wellbeing Training Programme in our town centre training suite, for health and wellbeing practitioners (open to paid staff and volunteers) active in local voluntary and community organisations (VCOs).
Nina Crispin from Reading Borough Council is delivering this in-person session on Making Every Contact Council, for practitioners working in local voluntary and community organisations (VCOs).
Make Every Contact Count enables the delivery of consistent and concise health and wellbeing information and encourages individuals to engage in conversations about their health at scale across organisations and populations. The fundamental idea underpinning the MECC approach is simple. It recognises that staff across health and care, local authority and voluntary sectors have thousands of contacts every day with individuals and are ideally placed to support health and wellbeing.
MECC is intended for anyone who has contact with people to “Make Every Contact Count” and develop public health knowledge.Participants will be learning alongside other VCO staff and volunteers, so this will be a good practitioner networking opportunity.Refreshments provided.
