This training session is hosted by REDA and they have collaborated with RVA to offer one free place for someone from a charity or community group to attend.
This is a fully certified training and the certificate will be valid for 3 years.
An overview of the training session includes:
- Understand the hazards and risks associated with a fire in the workplace
- The fire triangle and its components
- Hazards during or after a fire including products of combustion
- Characteristics of fire and smoke spread
- Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
- Methods used to identify and control risk hazards
- Different “means of escape “
- Methods of detection and raising alarms
- Principle of extinguishing fire
- Portable fire-fighting equipment – how it should be used safely
- Identifying what different fire extinguishers can extinguish
- Common fixed fire fighting systems and where they might be used
- Duties of employers and employee’s in Fire Safety
- How to undertake a simple fire safety inspection
- Stages in risk assessment
- Role and functions of a fire warden on a day to day basis
- Context of a safety briefing
This is a 4 hour training session from 10am-2pm
