Congratulations to The Weller Centre!

The Weller Centre won Outstanding Contribution to the Community at the recent Thames Valley Business and Community Awards. Sarah Timmins DeGregory, RVA Development Officer, said:

It’s fantastic that The Weller Centre is recognised for their tireless efforts on the Amersham Road Estate and for residents across Caversham. During, before and after lockdown, this centre has been a hub for the community of all ages – supplying cooked lunches, food parcels, books/games/toys, winter coats, school uniforms and much more. RVA is proud to work with a community partner that goes above and beyond to make sure residents have essentials and support for themselves and their families. Bravo to their committed team!

The Thames Valley Business and Community Awards judges commented:

 We wish that there were more centres like this around the country, centres that support numerous groups, clubs and classes in the heart of the community. This facility will help people of all ages.
